Everyone interested in our work and in helping to alleviate the suffering caused by schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses are encouraged to become a member of Pathways. It is the best way of keeping in touch with what’s happening and helps strengthen community, and therefore our voice. You do not need to have a mentally ill family member to join, everyone is welcome.
Both the membership fee and any additional donations can receive tax receipts at your request.
We highly value our members and hope you’ll join us this year.
What is a Pathways membership?
By becoming a Pathways member you are joining a safe and supportive community of people, of all ages and from all walks of life, whom have a loved one in their family who is living with, or has lived with, a serious mental illness.
How long does my membership last?
Our memberships run annually (12 months from the date of purchase). We encourage new members to purchase their membership in January.
How much does a membership cost?
Our annual membership is a small fee of $25. The membership fee helps to fund all our programs, which are available to you, at no extra cost.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Join a supportive community and strengthen our collective voice of people who have similar experiences taking care of loved ones with a mental illness. Be entitled to vote at our Annual General Meetings and continue to attend our programs and services for free.
Receive our Notepad Newsletter, Advocacy Bulletin, current programs and event notices directly to your mailbox.
Pathways runs a highly sought-after mental health course, Family-to-Family, that is currently 8 weeks long, every Spring and Fall. Soon we will be branching out further and hosting a series of educational workshops that build on our Family-to-Family course. We also host educational lectures on a variety of mental health topics. Our speakers come and share their knowledge, research, or life experience with the audience. Every lecture ends with a discussion period and a chance to ask questions. Please refer to our education tab to learn more about our past lectures.
Pathways actively advocates for you and your loved ones with mental illnesses. Our society’s four pillars of advocacy include: Proactive treatments, Family involvement, Information sharing, and Legislative & Government.
We help you overcome obstacles that are thrown your way, and advocate for families to be included as members of the treatment team while sharing appropriate information between professionals and family members. Please see our advocacy tab to learn more.
You can receive free support from Pathways. We have three main options for support including: Monthly support groups, one-on-one support sessions in our West Vancouver Office, and phone support sessions.
