Celebrating women who care for a loved one with a serious mental illness. Enjoy this International Women’s Day performance by Playwright/Director Jill Daum, followed by a panel discussion with women caregivers.

Jill Daum has been working as an actor and writer for over 40 years. She is one of the co-creators and performers of the internationally acclaimed plays: Mom’s the Word, Mom’s the Word: Unhinged, Mom’s the Word: Remixed, Mom’s the Word Nest ½ Empty and Mom’s the Word: Talkin’ Turkey. The Mom’s the Word shows have been seen by millions of people all over the world and translated into a multitude of languages. Jill also wrote the drama/comedy Forget About Tomorrow which played at the Arts Club Theatre, The Belfry Theatre and Here for Now in Stratford.

Jill is currently working on Beyond Impossible, a full length play about a mother’s struggle to get care for her adult son as he becomes increasingly overwhelmed by psychosis. It’s a raw monologue about love, the limits of our health care system, and a mother’s impossible persistence. Jill will be sharing a 30 min excerpt from her play followed by a panel discussion. The event will also include an intermission with snacks and refreshment with a panel discussion with women who have a loved one with a serious mental illness in their life.
