Join us in the office for a casual cup of @eightbillion JostArriba (coffee or tea) and conversations!
Lee-Ann Lavoie, Senior Operations Advisor, Indigenous Veterans Engagement Team at Veterans Affairs Canada will be giving us an update on how veterans and their family members can access mental health support.
She will cover a wide range of programs and benefits, including:
- Tax-free disability pensions for physical or mental health injuries caused by service
- Treatment benefits for these injuries
- Education bursaries
- Vocational retraining
- Help at home with housekeeping and groundskeeping
- Residential treatment
- Long term care
- Rehabilitation programs
Even if a Veteran does not have a service-related injury, we still have supports for them and their families in a crisis like our Emergency Funds and Mental health supports, up to 20 sessions a year.
